Monthly Media Roundup: March Edition

Just like that, March is a wrap. We’re ready for the April showers to wash away the winter—after all, we know we’re one month closer to May flowers—including the High Park Cherry blossoms! Here’s what made headlines this month:

Toronto Star included the transformation of Crow’s Theatre in its list of five great things happening in Toronto’s east. The article quotes the theatre’s artistic director, Chris Abraham, who says the new theatre will be the first professional performing arts facility of its kind east of the Don Valley. “We are really looking forward to being a home and beacon for arts and culture in Toronto’s East End neighborhoods,” he told the Star.

The Toronto Star also covered the evolution of the Broadview Hotel at Queen and Broadview: “I think this building serves as a gateway to the east, but not a very nice one right now, let’s be honest” says reporter Christopher Hume. “That will all change when the work is over—when it becomes a grand entrance to one of the most exciting parts of the city.”
