Monthly Media Roundup: January Edition
While the January weather may have us under a deep freeze, we’re still feeling the warm love from our community. This month, our crown jewel The Broadview Hotel appeared twice in the news, first for its daytime (and nighttime) drinking options, and second, for providing an escape for locals from the winter blues.
As blogTO contributor Amy Carlberg notes in her article rounding up the Top Bars for Day Drinking in the Winter: “Day drinking during the winter in Toronto isn’t a guilty pleasure, it’s a method of survival. The effect is twofold: it helps warm you up, and also passes the time while you wait for sunnier weather.”
Warm up with a seasonal selection of hand-crafted cocktails, as well as wines by the glass and bottle. The hotel is now serving breakfast every day until 2 p.m. in the Café + Bar, so there’s an array of stick-to-your-bones breakfast options, including steel cut oats and a French omelet with Five Brother’s Cheese. Non-alcoholic juices, including must-try flavors like lychee-cactus-pear, are also available by the glass.
If stopping in for a nosh or a drink isn’t enough, why not take Toronto Life’s advice and book a stay-cation with us?
As Toronto Life notes in their article on 10 Ways to Actually Enjoy Winter in Toronto this Year: “When the winter blues seriously start to hit, sometimes skipping town for a week of sun and sand seems like the only thing to do. But if time and money are factors, we recommend a slightly more feasible option: booking a room at The Broadview Hotel instead.”
The article goes on to note the upsides of staying with us, including indulging in our three on-property restaurants or staying in bed all day with the “Do Not Disturb” sign on your door. We all want to hide away in winter, but why not change the scene in style?
