Crow’s Theatre warms up their 2018-2019 season with The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe. Presented in partnership with The Howland Company, The Wolves tells a tale of nine young girls in high school during their daily afternoon soccer warmups. This provocative play captures the profound beauty of adolescence and paints a portrait of nuanced young women navigating soccer, their lives, and a growing understanding of a complicated world.
The Wolves first premiered in September 2016 at The Duke on 42nd Street in New York to universal critical acclaim. The show eventually transferred to Lincoln Centre in November of 2017. A finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the production also won an Obie Ensemble Award, a special Drama Desk Award for its acting ensemble, and was nominated for Lucille Lortel and Drama League awards for Best Play, as well as for the Outer Critics’ Circle John Gassner Award for Outstanding New American Play.
See the Toronto premiere of The Wolves on stage at Streetcar Crowsnest, October 9 to 27, 2018.
