Don’t Miss the Riverside Wine and Craft Beer Festival
If there’s anything that signals summer in Canada it’s the taste of Ontario wine and local beer. While vineyards like the ones in Niagra have been popular tourist attractions for decades, more recently Toronto has put itself on the map as a destination for craft beer.
Next month, residents in the east won’t have to travel far to get in on all the action. April 3rd thru 7th, retailers and restaurants in the east are joining forces for the Riverside Wine & Craft Beer Festival. This week-long event features a whole schedule of activities, including prix fixes with pairings, free tastings, demos, and more (see what The Broadview Hotel has on tap below). Organized by the Riverside BIA, the festival promises to attract locals to shop, eat, and drink in their neighbourhood after a winter of hibernation.
Here’s what’s going on at The Broadview Hotel for the duration of the festival:
On Tuesday, April 3rd, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Café + Bar, Beau’s All Natural will be pouring samples of their beloved certified organic, craft beers. Special food and beer pairing will be on offer as well.
On Wednesday, April 4th, from 5 pm to 8 pm. in the Café + Bar, Sweetgrass Brewing Company presents a beer and oyster pairing! Join Nicole Hynes, President of Sweetgrass Brewing, as she shucks and serves Prince Edward Island Malpeque Oysters paired with Sweetgrass Golden Ale samples.
Finally, on Thursday, April 5th, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Café + Bar, Old Tomorrow Beer invites you to whet your whistle with samples of their Canadian craft beverages, including their signature Light’er Up Lager, Track 85 Lagered Ale, and Honey Ginger Shandy.
