Welcome to Our Side – The Broadview Hotel
It was the talk of the city all summer long, and amidst all of the festivities, we completely missed out on officially introducing The Broadview Hotel to our blog readers. Without further ado, we’d like to take you on a tour …
Walking into the hotel, you’ll find our lobby, which features brass detailing in the marble floors, a brass-plated front desk, and brass framing for our elevators. Our favourite detail? The intricate art installation surrounding the elevators was made from the building’s old fire escapes and reworked by artist Bob Baytor.
To the left of the lobby is our hotly anticipated restaurant, The Civic, set to open in November. To the left, you’ll find the Café + Bar. The AM/PM hub of the hotel, the Café + Bar is filled with life from breakfast to late-night drinks. From the original wallpaper that’s been replicated for the hotel to the bistro-like marble tables and awe-inspiring centre bar, the Café + Bar is the perfect all-day meeting spot.
Checking-in? The hotel has 5 room types: The King Traditional, The King Terrace, The King Sitting, The King Corner and The Dominion Suite. Every room features a king-sized bed, a record player, and records sourced by our neighbours Tiny Record Shop. In he bathroom, you’ll also find plant-powered skincare products by Graydon Skincare and art curated by Tatar Art Project and Project Gallery. Every night your room will receive turndown service which is complete with mini chocolates from Soul Chocolate.
Moving to the cherry on top, The Rooftop: this indoor/outdoor bar with shareable bites and a big view has quickly become a favourite. From its spectacular 360 degree views of Toronto’s cityscape to the spacious indoor and outdoor seating, The Rooftop has become an unforgettable spot to spend an evening in the east.
If you opt to only take the elevator throughout the hotel, you’ll miss out on our homage to the building’s past. Painted in mural form throughout the stairwells is artwork by Supermilk Studios. The paintings showcase the hotel’s historic building throughout the past 126 years from bottom to top.
To wrap up the tour, our Lincoln Hall and Terrace is the perfect place to host your next large event. Perfect for weddings, community events, parties and meetings, this space can be transformed to suit any occasion.
Finally, we want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported and visited The Broadview Hotel since our opening this summer. We are now looking forward to the launch of the hotel’s restaurant, The Civic, and more exciting events to come!
