Monthly Media Roundup: February Edition
Has February flown by? It seems like just yesterday we were buying treats for our Valentines, and already we’re thinking about Easter brunch. This month, Streetcar scoured the city for the best hot chocolate, helped a family preserve a part of its past, and took you inside our new model suite at the Carnaby.
We also made headlines: Urban Toronto shared updates for both the Taylor and the Broadview Hotel:
Writer Jack Landau highlighted how the öko skin slat wall panels being fitted onto the Taylor’s exterior are adding warmth to the project while also being a smart solution: “[öko skin is capable of replicating the warmth of wood cladding while offering the same durability and sustainability as concrete, all without the need for regular painting or abrasion” says Landau.
Later in the month, Landau also filled in the community on the status of the Broadview Hotel: “While the Queen Street frontage is still hidden behind wraps, the glass and steel addition to the north is now topped off and largely clad in a combination of dark-tinted and reflective glazing.” In addition to noting the three-storey addition, Landau also pointed out how Streetcar is working with heritage specialists ERA Architects to rejuvenate this historic property while intensifying the site.
