Monthly Media Round-Up: May Edition

May was a month in motion. It seemed just yesterday we were enjoying the first signs of spring, and then the weather flipped like a switch. Suddenly, it’s summer. Before we welcome June, we give a nod to what was a lively month of May.

Urban Toronto shared this update on one of our east-end projects, the Taylor, noting how owners have begun to make our lofts their homes. Featuring design by TACT architecture, the Taylor is a 96-unit, eight-storey loft and townhouse development on Dundas Street East in the lovely Leslieville neighbourhood. The article also highlights one of the Taylor’s signature features—the öko skin slat wall panels—which have generated a lot of buzz in the Toronto design and development community. These exterior finishings resemble wood and give the building a home-like feeling while being able the withstand the Canadian winters.

“The earthy tones of the öko skin panels in combination with a reduced massing on the east-side of the development help it blend contextually with the neighbouring Victorian-style brick townhomes to the east” writes Urban Toronto’s Jack Landau.

Urban Toronto also turned their attention towards another one of our east-end projects, Riverside Square, with this construction update. Again, writer Jack Landau detailed the progress of what will be a four-and-a-half acre mixed-use community. While it’s still early days for Riverside Square, the anticipation is palpable. We can’t wait to breathe new life into this space!

And speaking of enlivening the east—don’t forget this weekend is Riverside Eats and Beats! The Bulletin posted this reminder of the event, informing readers how they can check out some of the action. “There will be a variety of destination points along Queen Street East, with live music and entertainment, and, of course, mouthwatering Riverside tasters” they write. Eats and Beats is also listed on See Toronto Now.

In other news, our corporate head office moved this month from Davies Avenue to the Carlaw at 345 Carlaw Ave (such an exciting new space!). We can’t wait to show you our new digs once we’re all set up.
