1. Crow’s Theatre set to Soar this Fall
Our theatre partners at Streetcar Crowsnest are set to soar with an amazing new season of entertainment that promises to catapult you around the world and through time. A provocative and topical thirteen shows are lined up this season spotlighting women and youth as agents of change. 2. Project Gallery Shows “Miss Chief’s Praying Hands” by Kent Monkman
Our art partners at Project Gallery are unveiling a solo collection by celebrated Canadian artist Kent Monkman. Monkman is a multimedia Canadian artist of Cree ancestry who creates provocative reinterpretations of romantic North American landscapes. His work explores themes of colonization, sexuality, loss, resilience, and the complexity of the contemporary Indigenous experience. Come take in his paintings, films/videos, performances, and installation work. 3. Broadview X Bata Shoe Museum Pop-up
Thought you had to go all the way downtown to get your culture fix? Think again! Our friends at The Broadview Hotel have proudly joined forces with the Bata Shoe Museum to host a pop-up on sneaker culture. Stop by for a free display showcasing ten of the most iconic sneakers from the last ten years, plus an eleventh pair that’s a collaboration between Puma and Bobbito Garcia, the famed filmmaker, D.J., author and sneaker historian.
